JAMC Single To Drop In January '08... And Be Featured On Heroes Soundtrack?

The upcoming Jesus and Mary Chain single, the first in over a decade, will be released this coming January... and will be featured as part of the soundtrack to NBC's Heroes? Yep, it's pretty weird how the world works, these days. Having a song featured on a hit TV show isn't a bad way to get exposure and sell records, but it often leads to backlash from fans. Blah blah blah, selling out, blah blah blah. Starbucks. Blah. Anyhow, I'm excited for that single, and for the band's show at the Wiltern, where they'll be supported by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

My Bloody Valentine To Headline Coachella 2008?

After the Jesus & Mary Chain dazzled the desert at this year's Coachella, news comes that next spring might see one of the ultimate shoegazer bands (yeah, none other than My Bloody Valentine) reforming at Coachella 2008 (April 25-27). Come on, guys. Why waste time making a NEW and OFFICIAL MySpace if you're not gonna regroup or something. Whyyy?

And gosh, if you don't own Loveless, just go buy it. And if you don't know who MBV is or what they sound like, it's late, but it's never too late.

I saw them at Coachella last year (one of the few acts I did manage to catch in my short stay at the festival) -- you know, the one that will always be known as "the time Scarlet Johansson sang with them" -- and while it wasn't like the best thing I ever saw, I'm definitely excited for another album. Album #7.
