Afraid of Stairs: "When Nothing"



Afraid of Stairs, a duo consisting of Pontus Wallgren and Max Sjöholm, plays a pretty, spacey, melodic, shogazey variety of music... you know, basically, the very best kind. Probably more atmospheric and truly shoegazer-inspired than most stuff that's labeled as such these days. The Swedish band's just released a self-titled EP (its first since signing to Lavender) on December 8, and it's well-worth checking out. You can hear two of the tracks on the band's MySpace, in addition to downloading the gorgeous, sparkling "When Nothing" below. I've got my eyes closed and I'm slipping off into space...
