Castledoor

I was on Last.fm yesterday and noticed another band will be joining Bishop Allen and Page France at the Echo on July 31st -- I had never heard them before, so I decided I should take a listen beforehand. What does Castledoor sound like? They've got an eclectic mix of sounds. Well, "The Birds and the Fleas" is a wonderful piano-driven pop song that's going to be stuck in my head for days, while "Fall Apart" is a dream-like song where the vocals sound far away and haunting. Sounds like a strong opener for the show: if you're a fan of the aforementioned bands, you'll love this stuff! Castledoor is an unsigned band based in Silverlake, CA (like the previously posted band, Shapes of Race Cars), and they've released an EP called Follow the Dove (2006), which is sold out but can be purchased on iTunes (if you don't mind that sort of thing).
