Jonatha Brooke: "Careful What You Wish For"

Who knew Jonatha Brooke had a new album out earlier this year (April's Careful What You Wish For)? For all of the albums she's put out, she still manages to fly well under the radar. In fact, this is actually album numba four (not including two live discs). This might not have interested me, had I not fallen in love with Back in the Circus when I was younger and more impressionable, but you can't deny that the lady writes great songs. She keeps on doing what she does best here -- introspective and comforting folk songs that delves occasionally into electronica. And I feel for the woman -- twenty years in the business (including her releases with the Story), and she still has to listen to Nick Lachey cover one of her songs on his last (hopefully, seriously, LAST) album. I feel your pain, girl. I dug that one up, because my curiosity got the best of me. 'Cause my ears have a strange masochistic streak, I guess. I won't inflict it on you, though.
