The Dreadful Yawns: Rest

The other day, I stumbled across the intriguingly named the Dreadful Yawns, quite fortunately. At first, I thought it was a shoegaze album (don’t judge an album by its cover, right?), but I gave it a listen, and urge you to do so as well. Yeah, Restless is an eclectic album, alright. There are some slow, sad, fuzzy, melancholic songs that — dare I say it — almost have a dream pop aesthetic about them at times. Others (i.e. “November Night”) are more straightforward alt-country. Dare I say their song, “Changing States,” sounds almost twee?
